Guelph, Ontario: A focus on the East End

Guelph

Here we are on January 24, 2013 and I have to say it: It is COLD down here in Southern Ontario! While the -12 degree temperature displayed on the dashboard of Daisy, my red Mazda 3, is much less intimidating than the -40 temperature being enjoyed by my old neighbours in Ottawa, Ontario, it is STILL bone chilling and less fun than the warm summery weather I am craving lol. I went viewing houses with two colleagues this morning and the sun was a welcome addition! I think learning from each other and being surrounded with motivated and positive people is fantastic! A special thank you to Taniya Simpson of my office, and to Sabrina Thompson of Champion Mortgage for giving me that extra boost of encouragement this week!

In my last entry, I outlined the various sectors of Guelph, and Christine Brady of Granite Homes suggested that I dig a little deeper to explain the East End of Guelph to prospective buyers and she also provided me with some helpful input about this area of town.

The East End, where I resided briefly upon moving to Guelph, has a lot to offer residents. It is a quiet, safe and very friendly community which is growing quickly. It is also only a short drive to the downtown area, the South End and the North End of Guelph. There is a lot of green space and outdoor activities in the East end. Buyers will find lower pricing for housing and property taxes, and those needing to commute will find solace in the short twenty minute drive to the 401.

…(the East End of Guelph) is truly the perfect place to raise a family. There are countless amenities nearby including parks, beach volleyball courts, walking trails, bike paths, sports fields and the Guelph Lake Conservation Area. There are excellent elementary and secondary schools nearby, as well as a new public library. Don’t have a plan for dinner? Nearby is a local butcher shop and you can pick up fresh produce from the Wellington Country Market Place. Or how about playing a round of golf at the Guelph Lakes Golf Club, or spend a summer evening at the Mustang Drive-in Theatre. All at your door step.” – Granite Homes, Morning Crest

It’s important as a buyer (or a seller for that matter) to be as informed as possible – but it can be VERY overwhelming!  Let me help break it down for you, and explain it to you!  I have a successful and helpful plan to professionally supervise all steps of the buying process.  We won’t leave anything to chance, I will save you time and money and we’ll even have fun in the process!

Get in touch today!  I’d love to hear from you!  KMoore Fall 2012
